Professor Simone Kauffeld has headed the Industrial/Organizational and Social Psychology division at Technische Universität Braunschweig since 2007. In her research, she deals with the topics of competence development and management (training and transfer), teams and leadership, careers/coaching and changes in organisation and work. Digitisation is an ever-present theme across all fields. She redesigned the magazines “PERSONALquarterly” and “Gruppe. Interaktion. Organisation.” and publishes books and series on the subject of occupational and organisational psychology.
As a member of the Presidency of Technische Universität Braunschweig, she was responsible for questions regarding teaching, studies and training, and teaching and diversity from 2012 to 2018. She has been appointed to various expert commissions, for example the innovators’ round table for work and qualification as part of the strategy dialogue of the automotive industry of Lower Saxony. She has also taught internationally at The City University of New York and as a professor in north-west Switzerland. In 2019, she was distinguished as one of the top 40 minds in human resources in the academics and science category.
After obtaining her degree in psychology and business administration at the University of Koblenz-Landau and Philipps-Universität Marburg, as well as a one-and-a-half-year stint as an organisational developer at a large company, Professor Kauffeld obtained her doctorate and professor qualification at the Institute of Industrial Science and Process Management at the University of Kassel.
