Professor Kirsten Thommes has been a professor of organisational behaviour at Paderborn University since April 2018, where her research focuses on the topic of human–machine interaction. She is particularly interested in the questions of how assistance systems can be integrated into work processes and when cooperation with assistance systems works. In this context, she focuses on evidence-based methods via a combination of long-term studies and computational social science.
Professor Thommes studied business administration at Philipps-Universität Marburg, obtained her doctorate at Friedrich Schiller University Jena and worked as a postdoc at Radboud University (Nijmegen, Netherlands) and RWTH Aachen.
