Pascal Etienne, ergonomist, is member of the FEES Board. He is involved in the promotion of ergonomics and deals with OHS and ergonomics issues in various fields, such as machine safety, creativity at work, industrial relations, transfer of knowledge, etc.
He has worked for more than 40 years at the French Ministry of Labour in various positions, lately responsible of the OSH policy concerning the design and use of machines, personal protective equipment and the workplaces. He has been involved at European level in the negotiation and the follow up of the directives, regulations and standards in this field. He has conducted surveys and enforcement campaigns at national level. He has been educated in ergonomics and social sciences: he has got degrees in Ergonomics (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Paris), Economics and Political Sciences (Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Paris) and Sociology (Paris - La Sorbonne).
He is member of SELF (the French speaking ergonomics society), has been member of the SELF board for six years including the position of President.
