Oliver Suchy has managed the Digital Working Worlds and Working World Reporting department at the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) since 2018. He is a member of the “Lernende Systeme” platform of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as well as the platform on the Digital World of Work at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. He represents the DGB, for instance, in the Steering Committee of the New Quality of Work Initiative (INQA).
Oliver Suchy studied political science, history, German studies and philosophy in Cologne and Berlin and completed his course at Freie Universität Berlin with a degree in Political Science. Suchy worked at the German Bundestag during his studies and then stayed on as a research associate after graduation. In 2001, he switched to the DGB National Executive Board, where he was entrusted with, among other things, strategic political development in labour market and social policy as well as campaign development and implementation. Between 2014 and 2018, he developed and managed the “Work of the Future” project with a focus on “Digitalization of the Working World” in the DGB National Executive Board.
