In this digital age, organisations face ever-changing demands and challenges. To successfully navigate dynamic changes in times of shortage of skilled workers, skill management becomes a key factor for organizational change, growth, and survival. Organizations need to develop employees’ digital competencies to meet current challenges while at the same time anticipating future competency requirements and plan their HR development strategies accordingly. This session will first outline current and future challenges of skill management, the importance of the willingness to change in the transformation process, the connection between personnel development and organisational development as well as digital tools and data driven approaches for skill management. The second part of the session is then scheduled as a panel discussion featuring practitioners as well as researchers to further discuss practical implications to support HR departments.
