Bernard Michez is the president of the Federation of the European Ergonomics Societies (FEES). The federation supports recognising the contribution ergonomics makes to economic developments, quality of life, health and safety at work and social progress. Additionally, Michez is a co-founder and chairperson of ERGOTEC as well as a co-founder of CINOV-Ergonomie. Furthermore, he is a member of the Société d’Ergonomie de Langue Française (SELF) and European Ergonomists.
Bernard Michez studied ergonomics at the UFR de psychologie du Mirail (now Jean Jaurès) in Toulouse, France. After completing his studies, he completed his doctorate on the topic of acquiring expert knowledge before starting to work on a project to redesign computer applications at France Telecom in 1987/1988. After working at Christol Consultants and having worked as a freelancer, Michez and three business partners, one of whom later became a co-founder of ERGOTEC, Franck Roumier, founded Ergonomie Travail Organisation (ETO). In 1997, Michez was one of the initiators in the foundation of the employers’ association CINOV, of which he became the general secretary. Two years later, ERGOTEC was founded collectively.
